Turkish company paints wind turbine blades purple - Why?
Energy news from Türkiye!
Turkish company Aydem Renewable Energy has painted the turbine blades in wind power plants with purple color 'to make the birds notice the turbine blades and to provide a comfortable field of vision for the pilots in cloudy weather'. Aydem, the first company in Turkey, has been implementing this project since 2013. International scientific reviews have revealed that the color that does not risk the pilots' vision and attracts insects the least is purple. The company then started the Purple Turbine Blades Project. The company has painted a total of 86 turbine blades purple to date. The company aims to contribute to 'biodiversity and nature' with the project.
