Tax exemption for solar power 

A draft law accepted in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Planning and Budget Commission has introduced tax benefits for house scale solar power generation. Accordingly, electricity producing panels installed on roof tops with less than 10 kW capacity will not be included in income tax calculations. The law will be effective upon ratification in the TBMM General Assembly. Once the law comes into effect, house type solar energy investments are expected to boost.

İGDAŞ top manager changes

Turkey's largest  natural gas distribution company  has changed its top management. Ali İhsan Sılkım was appointed as the new head of the company. İGDAŞ is the main operator of Istanbul's natural gas grid. 

BOTAŞ gets new LNG license

The Energy Market Regulation Agency (EPDK) has granted a new license to BOTAŞ for natural gas import. The license has a validity term of 30 years. BOTAŞ carries out natural gas import from regional producers through mainly pipelines.
