Admissions

The program is designed as an inter-disciplinary graduate program to be offered by the departments of Economics, International Relations and Political Science and Public Administration jointly. The medium of instruction in this distinguished program is English. For admission to the program, the following requirements must be met and a complete application must be submitted.

For English proficiency: TOEFL at least 87, IELTS at least 6.5 average and 5.5 from each section or grade C from the Bilkent University PAE examination. All exams listed here are valid for two years.
For academic proficiency: A BA or BS degree with a cumulative GPA of minimum 2.00/4.00 or 50/100. For MA program with thesis, 2.25/4.00 is needed.
 

Documents to be submitted: 1-2 pages long Statement of Purpose; 1 Letter of Recommendation (signed and sealed or electronically submitted through the application system); all original or certified copies of transcripts, diplomas and exam results (if available).

Please note that these are only the minimum scores necessary to qualify as an applicant. Applications are competitive and a limited number of scholarships based on merit might be available. The program is designed towards a non-thesis MA degree with the option of pursuit towards a degree of PhD in any of the three departments’ doctoral programs, provided that the admission criteria of the respective programs are met.

The MA Program with thesis also requires GRE: 300 (Verbal+Quantitative Total), GMAT: 450 for foreign students and ALES: 55 for Turkish citizens.
