Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar: “We examined the works on site with Rosatom President Aleksey Lihachev and received information about the latest status of the power plant. Akkuyu NPP, which is a strategic step for Turkey's energy supply security, will meet 10 percent of our country's electricity needs alone when it comes into operation at full capacity. In this way, we will avoid 35 million tons of carbon emissions every year.”
